Historical Information :

The tiara was created in 1923 by using the diamonds and pearls from the necklace that was a wedding gift from The Duke of York (future HM King George VI) to The Duchess of York (future HM Queen Mother) in the same year. Princess Margaret, the younger daughter of The Queen Mother, inherited the tiara from her mother in 1959. The tiara became one of the favourites of the young princess, just like The Poltimore tiara. After the death of HRH Princess Margaret in 2002, the tiara was inherited by HM The Queen Elizabeth II. In 2013, for a diplomatic reception and for the Chinese State Banquet in 2015, The Duchess of Cambridge wore this elegant piece.
